GO Winston News: Winston Transportation Group Becomes a Member of GO Group

For Immediate Release: New York (November 1, 2008)

The GO Group, a consortium of ground transportation companies that provide shuttles to and from more than 75 airports around the world, has added Winston Transportation Group, an airport shuttle service and executive car service, to its network. Winston Transportation Group provides shared-ride van and sedan service and private van and sedan service to and from Long Island, Brooklyn and Queens to and from JFK, LGA, Newark and Islip airports.  As well as, Manhattan, Bayonne and Brooklyn cruise terminals.

Winston Transportation Group started in 1973 by Martin Laschever the “father” of airport shared service. Is proud to bring its “rich history” to the GO group.

Winston Transportation Group, operates a fleet of (16) 11 & 14 passenger shuttle vans, (6) 3 passenger sedans, (4) 24 & 33 passenger mini buses and (2) 55-passenger coaches. It employs 31 drivers.

“We are excited to join The GO Group. We believe the GO branding and national presence will help us expand our airport business on Long Island ”.  Michael Laschever, President of Winston Transportation Group.

The GO Group was formed in 2007, when 35 independent transportation companies in the United States, Canada, Mexico and Europe organized under the GO franchise as the world’s largest door-to-door airport shuttle company.

While the regional companies remain independently owned and managed, they market under the GO umbrella. Passengers can make reservations to and from airports in both their departure and destination cities by visiting a joint website www.goairportshuttle.com.

“The GO concept responds to a growing demand in the market for a single-source ground transportation company,” says John McCarthy, president of GO Airport Shuttle.

“Corporate travel managers, convention managers and travel companies tell us they want to do business with one supplier, one phone number and one billing system,” he explains. “Individual travelers also appear to appreciate the opportunity to have a single, reliable source for airport transportation. In 2009, traffic on the GO website has increased 71 percent to 12,000 visitors per month.”
